『 Give Me Five！』

數學是生活的基礎。由小孩出生那一刻開始，已經活在數學之中，生日、體重、每日飲奶份量和次數等都與數學分不開。很多時家長在小朋友學習數學過程中只著重計算能力的培養，而忽略了思考與理解的重要性。在學前教育階段，應透過日常事物，啟發小朋友思考如何運用數學解決日常生活問題的能力。家長可以和小朋友一起用生活常見物品(例如硬幣伍元等)一起學習數字「5」。

數字「5」學習過程

在學數字「5」前，家長可以和小朋友重溫一次數字「1」到「4」。之後家長可以舉起手掌收起其中一手指，讓小朋友估數字「4」後面是那一個數字，即使估錯也不要打擊小朋友。籍此以引起小朋友的好奇心，這時才開始引導小朋友認識數字「5」。家長可以和小朋友一起數家中不同物品的數量例如椅子、鞋、衣服等，去探索和測試數字「5」。最後嘗試重覆數每隻手上手指的數目，如果小朋友能數到數字「5」，可以和小朋友說:“Give me five!”(擊掌的意思)，鼓勵小朋友能掌握到數字「5」。

我從小到大的願望就是做老師，很榮幸今天我能加入Math Monkey成為其中一位老師。

Math Monkey的活動教學，令我發現幼兒教育原來可以與別不同。亞洲區的教育普遍要求小朋友守規矩、坐正身子，所以一般的小朋友上課都比較文靜、不敢發聲，導致他們參與度不足，無法全情投入。小朋友對新事物缺乏趣味，慢慢就變成家長「強迫」才學習，處理得不好可能更成反效果。

而Math Monkey的「遊戲中學習」理念就可以幫助小朋友從內到外有明顯的進步，更可以逐漸建立自信心，經過一段時間後，小朋友能自己去發掘、思索理解，比「迫」他讀有更可觀的進步空間。

Being a teacher is my childhood dream, thus I am honored to join Math Monkey today as one of the teachers. The Activities Teaching of Math Monkey makes me discover the difference of Early Childhood Education. 

In general, Asian education requires quiet children, sit upright, and thus children are relatively quiet and not eager to raise questions, resulting in insufficient participation. 

If children lack interest in new things, parents have to force them to learn, and without proper supervision, this may generate adverse effect. 

Math Monkey's "Game based learning" concept can help children achieve significant progress.

數猴皇醒目兒童教育中心每月之星Math Monkey Star of the Month - Bosco Wong (June 2014)

我們 6 月的“每月之星”就是 Bosco Wong

Bosco 在數猴皇醒目兒童教育中心(九龍灣分校) 就讀狐猴部隊課程已有3 個月。他在數猴皇學習時間雖短，但他在學習上卻有極大的進步，比起上學年他已能用較短的時間完成題目。下學期Bosco 學校數學科成績比上學期進步了 20 多分，因而獲得“飛躍進步獎”。

Bosco 覺得參加了數猴皇醒目兒童教育中心課程後，發現學數學變得有趣，他還會主動探索，尋求答案的解釋。在班內和朋友圈中他變得更主動和活潑。
對於 Bosco 在短時間內，能有如此大的進步，我們都不禁要給他一個『讚』！再次恭喜Bosco獲得數猴皇醒目兒童教育中心『每月之星』的榮譽。

Our “Star of the Month” in June is Bosco Wong!

Bosco has joined Math Monkey program for 3 months, now he is studying Lemur Level. 

Although Bosco studies in Math Monkey for such a short period, he has great improvement in his studies and can finish exam paper faster than before. In this term, Bosco has been awarded “The Greatest Improvement Award” at school and his Math subject has upgraded for more than 20 points.

Since studying in Math Monkey, Bosco find Math is so fun and he’s willing to explore more in his daily life and become more interested to explore the answer with reasons. He also becomes more active in classes and share his ideas confidently with his friends.

For this great boy, we will like to give him a “LIKE”! Congratulation to Bosco again be the “Star of the Month” in Math Monkey Education Center.
